Suggest openparliament.ca improvements (website suggestions only -- this is NOT the place for political opinions or gov questions)

  1. Include standing committees of House and Senate

    While a Parliament minutes are valuable for seeing what the big picture is, the heaviest debate, as well as testimony from non-Parliamentary actors happens in the Standing Committees.

    This is done. If you go to the main bills page — click Bills at the top of any page — you should see the RSS-feed logo (usually an orange radio-wave box) in your browser’s navigation bar. Click it to subscribe to a feed of new bills.

  5. Display a permalink for each statement

    Sometimes MPs say something that I want to link to. It would be great if there was a permalink displayed by the statement.

    There is a page for each MP. It should link to their wikipedia entry right below the existing links to their site and their page on the official Parliament web site.

  7. Add Twitter feed to Ben Lobb profile

    Not sure if thise is the right place to suggest, but I noticed that Ben Lobb's profile(http://openparliament.ca/politicians/ben-lobb/) doesn't link to his Twitter feed: (https://twitter.com/BenLobbMP) and thought that might be a good data set to have.

    My MP vote shows something like
    "Voted Nay on Vote #86 That the Bill be now read a third time and do pass"
    But it's hard to know what the context is or what the "Bill" is exactly

    An e-mail address for Ryan Cleary MP.NDP would be useful. Easy tell he is elected to Ottawa, no way to reach him by E-mail.

  12. To make printing easier, automatically expand all comments when in single page view

    First off, I need to say how much I appreciate the hard work that goes into creating such a useful and important site! It has made my research so much easier.

    Right now if I want to print the entire transcript of a meeting, I have to click "View this document on a single page" and then manually scroll through and click "more" for each comment that exceeds the set word limit. It would be very helpful if the single page view automatically expanded all comments, or, alternatively, if there was a "printer-friendly" button that did the same thing.
